Belly Henna

Pregnant women traditionally receive henna as a celebration and blessing for their path into motherhood. A unique belly design for the expecting mother is usually done as a private appointment in her 3rd trimester, or included in the baby shower or blessingway. A decorated belly also makes a creative addition to your pregnancy photo shoot! Approx 1.5 hours.

Belly Casting

A custom made high quality cast of your pregnant torso, lovingly finished and decorated creates a gorgeously unique keepsake for you to enjoy forever. 1 hour appointment for the casting, 1 month for Melanie to finish and decorate.

The Baby Shower Deluxe Package

Includes a belly henna for the mother and a luxurious foot soak in the fun Jelly Bath product, plus henna designs for all the guests. Approx 2.5 hours.

Bridal Henna

Bridal henna is essential for completing a traditional Hindu or Muslim wedding and adds ritual, color and a taste of the exotic to Western weddings. Melanie loves to incorporate any personal concepts the couple may have to make their henna truly unique for the special day. Melanie is also available for bachelorettes, bridal showers and Sangeets (the traditional pre-wedding mehndi party).

Parties & Events

Melanie travels out to add spice to parties and events of all kinds: birthdays, bachelorettes, college events, Bat/Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, corporate events ...There is a 2 hour minimum for out calls.

Parties (5-10 people) $60 per hour, 2 hour min
Events (10< people) $85 per hour, 2 hour min

Yoga

Melanie has been practicing yoga since 1998, beginning with the Iyengar tradition and ultimately teaching a gentle vinyasa style since 2007. Over the years, her integrated practice has led her to a strong love of mantra, and she is now teaching mantra classes and workshops around Portland to encourage other practitioners along the path of Bhakti (devotion). Dreadlock Maintenance

Melanie has been beautifying dreadlocks since 2006. Her methods are refined after 7+ years of maintaining her own hair, incorporating crocheting, root rubbing and palm rolling, with minimal use of product. She even teaches her clients how to best care for their dreads in between appointments. She is available Monday-Friday, daytime and evenings for dreadlocking sessions.
